January 27, 2012 7:27 am Health and FitnessAs a chiropractor bloomington il and rehab specialist in Bloomington IL. I explain often to my patients that there is no sinlge muscle that travels all the way from your neck to the hand. Yet there are three nerves that do this. Your Ulnar, Radial, and Median Nerves. The nerve of the upper limb however that gets the most recognition is the median nerve do to its involvment in the carpall tunnel. While active release technique is very effective at relieving the casue of carpal tunnel I usually give my patients median nerve flossing to do as part of an at home exercise program.
Nerve flossing is mobilizing the nerve to try and free it from tight muscles or scar tissue that has casued it to stick to other tissuses. Median nerve flossing is a simple yet extremly effect way to treat tingling, pain, burning sensations that you may have from your thumb to half your ring finger (thumb side only). Watch the video below an see the steps to how to floss your median nerve.
